Amy Lenander

CEO, Capital One UK

Since January 2017, Amy leads all aspects of Capital One's UK business. She and her team set and execute the business strategy while delivering strong risk-adjusted returns. Amy is passionate about creating an environment where people can leverage technology in innovative ways to support our millions of customers.

Prior to her role as Head of UK Card, Amy was Capital One UK's Chief Marketing Officer, including accountability for underwriting, analytics, and product development. She began her Capital One career in 2003 as an analyst at our enterprise headquarters in McLean, Virginia, USA. While in McLean, Amy worked in both the Card and Personal Loan parts of the US business, leading teams across product development, underwriting, and marketing.

Raised in New Jersey, Amy earned her magna cum laude undergraduate degree in Economics from Harvard University. She also earned an M.B.A., with honours and distinction, from Columbia University. She's a big fan of musical theatre.

    Chief Operating Officer

    Victoria joined Capital One in 1997, immediately taking responsibility for setting up the Legal department. Before joining the organisation she worked in the banking division of leading solicitors Wilde Sapte, where she helped to establish the UK branch of Capital One.

    Victoria became Chief Operating Officer in 2011. Amongst her responsibilities she is accountable for Operations and Risk Management.

    She is also a member of the Board of the UK Cards Association.

    Chief Marketing Officer

    Lucy became Chief Marketing Officer in January 2017. She is accountable for all Capital One’s UK in-market activity including our partnerships, brand and direct marketing; product and design; and customer management activity. Lucy grew up in Oldham and joined Capital One from Cambridge University in 2000 as part of our graduate programme. She held a variety of analytical roles across the organisation, including 5 years setting strategy in Risk Operations, before joining the Marketing team in 2011. Lucy cares deeply about creating products and experiences that are ground-breaking in their transparency and make a real difference for our customers.

  • Rob Harding

    Rob Harding

    Chief Information Officer

    Rob's career began as a consultant for the National Grid Group. He moved to East Midlands Electricity in 1996 where he held a variety of analyst and IT roles within their Energy Trading department.

    Rob joined the Capital One IT Team in 1999. He was made head of IT architecture and programme delivery in 2008 and became Chief Information Officer in 2010. In 2013 Rob featured within CIO magazine's list of the top 100 transformative CIOs in the UK.

    Rob has a first class honours degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham.

    Chief Analytics Officer

    Jeremy joined Capital One in 2007 and has played a number of roles focusing on data, modelling and decision making. As Chief Analytics Officer, he is responsible for data science, data analysis and underwriting for the UK business. He also plays a leading role in developing and delivering our technology strategy. Jeremy started his career at the London School of Economics where he specialized in time series analysis and computational statistics. He has a degree in Mathematics from Oxford University, a masters degree in Operational Research, a masters degree in Computing Science, and a PhD in Statistics.

    Chief Financial Officer and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer

    Neil began his Capital One career in 2001, leading one of our Internal Audit teams. Moving to Finance in 2005 he became Chief Finance Officer for a diverse portfolio of adjacent lending businesses, before becoming UK Financial Controller in 2008. He was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in 2013 and is proud to lead our multi award-winning UK Finance team. Neil is passionate about creating an environment where we attract the most talented people and enable them to do great work. In 2017 he was appointed as our Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer and is focused on ensuring we have an inclusive culture that embraces diversity and unlocks the talents of all our associates. Neil is a Chartered Management Accountant and earned his undergraduate honours degree in Economics & Accounting from the University of Durham..

  • Karen Bowes

    Karen Bowes

    Vice President, International HR and Sustainability

    Karen is the Vice President of International HR and Sustainability for Capital One's UK and Canadian credit card business. Karen has led our people strategy since 2009 and these efforts have resulted in Capital One UK being named as the UK's and Europe's Best Workplace in 2013 in the large company category by Great Places to Work®.

    Prior to joining Capital One in 2003, Karen practiced employment law in both London and Surrey.

    Karen earned her undergraduate degree with honours from Kent University in 1993 and graduated with distinction from the College of Law, Guildford.

  • Rupert MacInnes

    Rupert MacInnes

    Chief Counsel

    Rupert trained as a solicitor at London's "Magic Circle" law firm Allen & Overy, where he went on to work in their banking and finance litigation team.

    Rupert joined the Capital One Legal team in 2002, looking after market facing activity, litigation and regulatory work. He was made Head of Legal in 2007, Chief Risk Officer in 2011 and Chief Counsel UK in 2015. Rupert has responsibility for the UK Legal and Compliance functions as well as regulatory relations and public affairs. He is also Company Secretary and the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

    Rupert is a qualified solicitor, has a degree in law from the University of Southampton and an MBA from Imperial College Management School.
