Chris Newkirk

Chris Newkirk

Head of International

As Head of International since mid-2013, Chris leads Capital One's UK and Canadian credit card businesses and is a member of Capital One's US Card Leadership Team.

Chris and his team set international strategies while delivering strong risk-adjusted returns and a compelling customer experience. He is also particularly proud to be part of a UK business that was awarded Europe's Best Workplace in 2013 in the large company category by Great Places to Work®.

Chris joined Capital One US in 2008, where he held leadership roles in both Capital One's Branded and Partnership Card businesses. Prior to joining Capital One, Chris was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and a business unit president at a US bank.

Chris earned his undergraduate degree with honours from Yale University in 1994 and is a 1999 magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.

    Victoria Mitchell

    Chief Operating Officer

    Victoria joined Capital One in 1997, immediately taking responsibility for setting up the Legal department. Before joining the organisation she worked in the banking division of leading solicitors Wilde Sapte, where she helped to establish the UK branch of Capital One.

    Victoria became Chief Operating Officer in 2011. Amongst her responsibilities she is accountable for Operations and Risk Management.

    She is also a member of the Board of the UK Cards Association.


    Amy Lenander

    Chief Marketing Officer

    Amy began her Capital One career in 2003 as a business analyst at our corporate headquarters in McLean, Virginia. While in McLean, Amy built a diverse background in both the credit card and instalment loan lines of business, leading teams across product development, underwriting, and marketing.

    Before taking on the role of UK Chief Marketing Officer in 2014, Amy led the US No Hassle Rewards program and worked to strengthen customer engagement, digital engagement, and advocacy for rewards credit cardholders.

    Prior to joining Capital One, Amy earned her undergraduate degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard University. She also earned an M.B.A., with honours and distinction, from Columbia University.

    Rob Harding

    Chief Information Officer

    Rob's career began as a consultant for the National Grid Group. He moved to East Midlands Electricity in 1996 where he held a variety of analyst and IT roles within their Energy Trading department.

    Rob joined the Capital One IT Team in 1999. He was made head of IT architecture and programme delivery in 2008 and became Chief Information Officer in 2010. In 2013 Rob featured within CIO magazine's list of the top 100 transformative CIOs in the UK.

    Rob has a first class honours degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham.

  • Rupert MacInnes

    Rupert MacInnes

    Chief Counsel

    Rupert trained as a solicitor at London's "Magic Circle" law firm Allen & Overy, where he went on to work in their banking and finance litigation team.

    Rupert joined the Capital One Legal team in 2002, looking after market facing activity, litigation and regulatory work. He was made Head of Legal in 2007, Chief Risk Officer in 2011 and Chief Counsel UK in 2015. Rupert has responsibility for the UK Legal and Compliance functions as well as regulatory relations and public affairs. He is also Company Secretary and the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

    Rupert is a qualified solicitor, has a degree in law from the University of Southampton and an MBA from Imperial College Management School.

    Neil Herbert

    International Chief Financial Officer

    Neil joined Capital One in 2001 initially leading a finance team in Internal Audit.

    Moving to Finance in 2005 he became CFO for a diverse portfolio of adjacent lending businesses before becoming UK Financial Controller in 2008. He was appointed as International CFO in 2013.

    Prior to joining Capital One, Neil held a variety of internal audit and financial positions in retail and FMCG businesses.

    Neil is a chartered management accountant and has a degree in Economics & Accounting from the University of Durham.

    Karen Bowes

    Vice President, International HR and Sustainability

    Karen is the Vice President of International HR and Sustainability for Capital One's UK and Canadian credit card business. Karen has led our people strategy since 2009 and these efforts have resulted in Capital One UK being named as the UK's and Europe's Best Workplace in 2013 in the large company category by Great Places to Work®.

    Prior to joining Capital One in 2003, Karen practiced employment law in both London and Surrey.

    Karen earned her undergraduate degree with honours from Kent University in 1993 and graduated with distinction from the College of Law, Guildford.
