As a leading UK financial services company, we can bring you some amazing career opportunities. We're proud of the way we nurture and keep the brightest individuals, so you'll really get a lot out of working with us.

Our people shape the future of our company. Each employee is an important stakeholder so teamwork's a way of life - everyone counts. And our senior managers are very approachable and keen to listen to your views.

What's the work/life balance like?

We're committed to our people working sensible hours. Our cheerful workspace is also kitted out for relaxation, with designated chill-out areas, games and pool tables.

Something we take really seriously is corporate social responsibility. It's more than just buzzwords. We do a lot to help the community and our environment, and have fun along the way.

We recently scooped a Business in the Community award for 'Health Matters'. This was for our great range of on and off site health events. For example, we've given flu jabs to over 1,000 associates over the past three years, offered prostate cancer screening and mammograms to our people in eligible groups, and provided free on-site classes including tai chi, yoga and self defence.

What's it like to work with us?

We believe in helping you make the most of your talents and will do everything we can to kick start your career.

Your manager will help you shape your career and meet your goals. Every week you'll have what we call a 10/10. This is your chance to have one on one time with your manager and talk about what's important to you. It's a time to map out your objectives, how well you're meeting them and what training you can have to help you progress.

We have our own Capital One University, using a mix of classroom-based lessons, on the job training and online learning. So whether you want to know the specifics of Chip and Pin technology or take a leadership course, you'll be bang up to date with one of our courses. We also have an in-house learning zone with information on everything from brushing up on a foreign language to learning to cook a pukka meal with Jamie Oliver! And, if there's a particular skill you'd like to develop, you could have 100% of your tuition costs covered through our Educational Assistance Programme.

Once you've proven yourself in your role and are keen to stretch yourself and take on new challenges, you can apply for internal positions on our internal vacancy site. Your manager will work alongside you to give you a boost and increase your chances of getting the position. It's all part of the teamwork that makes us such a strong business and a great place to work.

Why Nottingham?

We reckon our office culture sets us apart from other companies. You can't turn up in a Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops but we definitely encourage an informal atmosphere. Our state-of-the-art offices have a games room with TV, pool tables, computer consoles and table tennis.
We feel it's important to mention that we don't expect you to pull a late one every night - in fact, we don't want you to. We want people who understand consumers and what makes them tick, so you need to be out there in the real world.

While we do have a London office, if you join as a graduate, you'll be working in our Nottingham office. Its right in the city centre near the trendy Lace Market and the Nottingham Contemporary art gallery. Surrounded by top restaurants, bars and clubs, you'll be spoilt for choice.

The great thing about Nottingham is its size. Big enough so there's plenty to do, but small enough to get around easily. You won't be bogged down by London prices here, the cost of living's way lower - meaning if you join as a graduate, you'll easily be able to afford a swish apartment bang in the city centre, or something in the exclusive Park area of the city.

Nottingham is in the heart of England, which means excellent transport links to all over the country. The main train station is on your doorstep and regular fast trains to London St Pancras are always available - extremely handy as we also have a London office. East Midland's airport is just a short drive away too.

If Nottingham feels too close to home, you may have the chance to transfer to one of our overseas offices, including Washington and Boston.
