Join our team - applying is simple

You won't have to trawl through 20 page application forms with us, or endless rounds of interviews. Here at Capital One we like to offer something a little bit different - starting with your application process.

Go to Join Our Team and search for roles in Nottingham. If you're a Graduate search for 'Graduate' jobs.

If your CV is accepted you'll take part in an online testing session. If you're successful we'll invite you to Capital One for an assessment day.

In the assessment day you'll get a genuine insight into what it's like to work for us, before you start.

If you're a graduate, you'll get at least one interview with a Director or Vice President - it's a real chance to shine. You'll spend an hour talking through an example analytical problem with one of our team - but don't worry, we won't expect you to be an expert on credit cards, we're just seeing if you like a challenge!

We'll ask you to complete a competency questionnaire followed by an ability test to assess your numerical and verbal reasoning skills. Due to the nature of the competency questionnaire, you can't really do much prep but we're happy to send you some info. Brushing up on percentage increases/decreases, fractions and ratios can help you prepare for the numerical test.

These are closer to the classic question/answer interview - you'll be asked to talk about specific experiences you've had at school, university and work environments.

In the interviews we'll look for examples where you've demonstrated certain competencies. You'll be asked questions like:

  • Can you tell me about a time when you used your influencing skills?
  • Describe a project that made you very proud

A case study interview with Capital One is unique. It lets you experience what it's really like to work for us by discussing a business problem together. These discussions are broad, two way chats, rather than one-way tests. We're interested not just in the solution you reach, but how you got there and the way you think.

Your assessment day will be made up of two to three case study interviews, one behavioural interview and an interview about the role you're interested in. This is also your chance to fire some questions at us, so come prepared.
