Photocard

Get the answers to our customers' most common queries

If you use a Windows PC do the following:

  1. Locate the file you want to upload.
  2. Right click on this file and select 'Open With', followed by 'Paint'.
  3. The photo you are uploading will now open in the Paint application.

  4. At the top of this page select 'File' followed by 'Save As'.
  5. Rename the file and choose to save it in a location you will remember.
  6. Check the 'Save As' file type is set to either jpg, jpeg or png (these are the only files that will work in Photocard).
  7. Select 'Save'.
  8. Return to Photocard and upload the new file you have just created. Your photo should now upload without issue.

If you have a MAC use the following:

  1. Open your photo (double-click on the file itself, or open via an image viewing application, such as Preview).
  2. Click the 'File' menu and select 'Save As'. This will open up a window.
  3. Decide where you want to save this new file and what you want to call it (It?s best to change the name otherwise you will save over and replace your original image).
  4. Use the quality slider at the bottom of the window to reduce the quality of the image which will in turn decrease the file size of the image. Also check you save the file format to jpeg, jpg or png.
  5. Check the 'Save As' file type is set to either jpg, jpeg or png (these are the only files that will work in Photocard).
  6. Click 'Save' to complete the resizing of your image.
  7. Return to Photocard and upload the new file you have just created. Your photo should now upload without issue.

This is the option of personalising your Capital One credit card with a photo of your own, or an image from our photo gallery. This replaces the standard card design. Add your favourite photo or a dazzling design to get a card that's truly yours.

If you are eligible for a Capital One Photocard we will contact you to let you know. At the moment we can't offer this to all our customers, however in the future we hope to make it an option for everyone with a Capital One credit card.

To get the best experience of our Photocard website you should make sure you:

  • Use an up to date version of your internet browser. We support Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.6
  • Avoid using your browsers 'Zoom' function to increase the size of the webpage. You can reset this on most browsers by selecting the 'View' menu then selecting 'Zoom' followed by 'Reset'

If you have uploaded your own photo we need to check it first to make sure it meets our Photocard guidelines. You will receive an email to let you know when it has been approved and you should still receive it within 7-10 working days from ordering.

If you uploaded your own photo our team will check it to ensure it meets the Photocard guidelines. If it doesn't we will email you to let you know and you can try to upload a different photo.

That's fine, simply contact us and we will reprint your card with a standard Capital One card design. We won't charge you for this.

We can't currently offer you the option of changing it to another photo. You can change it back to a standard Capital One card design.

Yes, any photo you choose will be printed on your card and all your additional cardholders.

Yes, we will reprint your cards with the photo you chose.
