London, UK 28th June 2019: Post Office today announced a new credit card partnership with Capital One UK.
Capital One is a top UK credit card provider, with over 20 years of lending experience, as well as industry-leading underwriting, technology and digital capability.
Announcing the partnership, Post Office and Capital One said their shared commitment to financial inclusion and providing transparency for customers had been vital in securing it.
Both Post Office and Capital One are purpose-led organisations with long histories of innovation, supporting communities and serving a diverse range of customers.
Through this new partnership, Post Office and Capital One will be offering credit cards to meet a broad range of customer needs; from those who need the extra security and protection offered by paying with a credit card, to those who are looking to build a sound credit history to support other life goals.
Owen Woodley, CEO of Post Office Financial Services and Telecoms, said: "We're delighted to be working with Capital One as we continue to develop our credit card offering for customers. Capital One is a leading credit card provider and we feel its goal to make credit simple is a strong fit for the Post Office, complementing our desire to cater for a wide range of our customers and meet their changing needs.
"Together, we are committed to serving our customers and helping people to succeed with credit in a way that is simple, straightforward and supportive.
"We are looking forward to sharing more details about this partnership and products in the near future."
Amy Lenander, Capital One UK's Chief Executive Officer, said: "We were drawn to the Post Office as an iconic, trusted brand which has a special relationship with customers across all communities and a strong record of helping customers build up their financial resilience.
"Our shared starting point for this partnership was the strong alignment of values between the Post Office and Capital One – a commitment to financial inclusion, a focus on supporting customers, and an ambition to make credit simple.
"We are excited to work with Post Office in the coming months to develop products that have simplicity, transparency and supporting customers at their heart."
New products will be launching for Post Office customers in the near future, and more information on the partnership will be shared as it becomes available.
