The most common reason is that you've checked your eligibility for a credit card in the last 12 months.
You might have done this with Capital One using Quickcheck Or with one of our partners, such as Money Supermarket, Totally Money, ClearScore or Ocean Finance.
A quotation search is also known as a 'soft search'. Only you and the credit reference agency can see the 'soft search'. It'll disappear after 12 months.
If you apply for a Capital One credit card, you'll see a 'credit search' on your credit report. These are also known as a 'hard search'.
If you've checked your eligibility for a credit card, then a 'quotation search' might show on your credit report.
You could have used QuickCheck with Capital One. Or you might have used a comparison site, such as Money Supermarket, Totally Money or uSwitch.
Credit reporting sites can also do searches that show on your credit report. This can happen if you view credit card offers on ClearScore, for example.
