Lucy-Marie Hagues

Lucy-Marie Hagues

CEO, Capital One UK

As CEO of Capital One UK, Lucy is responsible for the overall strategic direction and general management of the business.

Prior to her role as CEO, Lucy was most recently Chief Marketing Officer, leading the marketing, product, brand and design teams to help transform and simplify Capital One's customer experiences. She played a critical role in the development of several award-winning product initiatives, including the QuickCheck credit card eligibility checker and CreditWise, the credit score and report tool.

Lucy, who grew up in Oldham, joined Capital One's graduate programme in 2000 from Girton College, University of Cambridge where she read Engineering. She has deep experience across multiple business functions including underwriting, analytics, and operations, as well as exceptional risk management skills.

Lucy cares deeply about making credit simple, by creating products and experiences that are ground-breaking in enabling customers to make informed financial choices. She is also a member of UK Finance’s Personal Finance Board. UK Finance is the leading trade association of the banking and finance industry.

Rob Harding

Rob Harding

Chief Operations and Technology Officer

Rob's career began as a consultant for the National Grid Group. He moved to East Midlands Electricity in 1996 where he held a variety of analyst and IT roles within their Energy Trading department.

Rob joined the Capital One IT Team in 1999. He was made head of IT architecture and programme delivery in 2008 and became Chief Information Officer in 2010. In 2013 Rob featured within CIO magazine's list of the top 100 transformative CIOs in the UK.

Rob has a first class honours degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham.

Jeremy Penzer

Jeremy Penzer

Chief Marketing and Analytics Officer

Jeremy joined Capital One in 2007 and has played a number of roles focusing on data, modelling and decision making. As Chief Marketing and Analytics Officer, he is responsible for our customer acquisition and customer management strategies, data science, and data analysis for the UK business. Jeremy started his career at the London School of Economics where he specialized in time series analysis and computational statistics. He has a degree in Mathematics from Oxford University, a Masters Degree in Operational Research, a masters degree in Computing Science, and a PhD in Statistics.

Mike Lynch

Mike Lynch

Head of Human Resources

Mike joined Capital One UK as Head of Human Resources in June 2017. He is accountable for all Human Resource activities including Talent Acquisition, Development, HR Operations and Internal Communications. Mike is also Capital One UK's Accountable Executive for DIB, leading on all aspects of this across the business.

Mike has worked for our parent US business in various HR capacities since 1998. He has a passion for people leadership, and fostering a diverse and inclusive culture where our associates can do the best work of their careers.

Rupert MacInnes

Rupert MacInnes

Chief Counsel

Rupert trained as a solicitor at London's "Magic Circle" law firm Allen & Overy, where he went on to work in their banking and finance litigation team.

Rupert joined the Capital One Legal team in 2002, looking after market facing activity, litigation and regulatory work. He was made Head of Legal in 2007, Chief Risk Officer in 2011 and Chief Counsel UK in 2015. Rupert has responsibility for the UK Legal and Compliance functions as well as regulatory relations, external affairs and corporate social responsibility, and is the senior sponsor for the business's sustainability and environmental agenda. He is also Company Secretary.

Rupert is a qualified solicitor, has a degree in law from the University of Southampton and an MBA from Imperial College Management School.

James Aron

James Aron

Chief Financial Officer

James is responsible for the financial activities of Capital One UK. James joined the business in 2010, and as a long-standing business leader, he has been instrumental in the development of the business' strategy and products. Before becoming CFO in 2020, he was responsible for customer acquisition including marketing and underwriting. James began his career as a strategy consultant and has a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford.


Katy Lomax

Chief Experience Officer

Katy joined Capital One in 2017 and is responsible for our Customer Experience team, which includes brand and design, customer communications and new product development. She is a highly experienced leader with years of experience in marketing and product roles across diverse industries including FMCG, pharmaceuticals, telecoms, travel and financial services. Katy has a Masters Degree in Business Management from Loughborough University.

She is passionate about creating products, services and experiences that make credit simple for our customers and sets them up for financial success.
