Capital One UK wins big at the Card & Payments Awards 2026

London, February 2026

Capital One UK celebrated a triumphant night at the Card & Payments Awards 2026, taking home three prestigious accolades at the iconic Grosvenor House in London.

Judged by an independent panel of industry experts, the Card & Payments Awards serves as the gold standard for quality, credibility, and progress across banks, fintechs, retailers and service providers. Capital One UK's wins across a range of categories spanning social impact, digital innovation and creative storytelling highlights the company's multi-faceted offering to its customers.

Capital One UK was named the winner in the following three categories:

  • Financial Inclusion Award: recognised for providing access to credit for people who are often excluded from mainstream lending. By providing upfront certainty, supportive digital tools, and a nurturing 'low and grow' model, Capital One UK helps customers to build financial strength with dignity.
  • Best App User Experience (CX initiative): awarded for transforming credit arrears with a mobile app that turns repayment into recovery. By replacing stressful calls with intuitive digital journeys and celebrating customers getting back on track, the app has driven higher repayment plan uptake, reduced relapse and improved customer outcomes.
  • Best Marketing Campaign: won for the 'No Nasty Surprises' campaign, which used humorous storytelling to make credit feel simple and human. By embracing wit and playfulness across previously unexplored channels, the campaign cut through the noise, challenged conventions and redefined how audiences connect with the brand.

In addition to these three wins, Capital One UK was also a finalist in two further categories, Best Credit Card or Credit Facility and Best Customer Service.

Austin Bingham, Chief Executive of Capital One UK, said: "Winning three awards from five nominations is testament to our team's dedication to being a force for good in lending. Whether it's through our commitment to financial inclusion, our 'No Nasty Surprises' campaign or our app transforming the recovery process for customers in arrears, our goal remains the same: to lead with empathy and innovation. These accolades from the Card & Payments Awards really highlight that when you put customer dignity and digital excellence at the heart of your strategy, everyone wins."
